Blue Is Not The Only Hue

So you have decided to get a swimming pool. You have selected the perfect shape and size for your backyard, but there is one more important decision to make.

What colour?

With over 30 beautiful colours to choose from in our range, it’s not an easy decision to make.

Always have the finished project in mind. Consider all the surrounding elements, things like fences, paving, decks, garden beds, trees. Consider also, the colour of your house and any other existing outdoor features that will need to work in with your pool.

There is no right or wrong when it comes to pool colour selection as its personal choice. The colour on the brochures will not necessarily be the finished pool water colour so be sure to see examples and images of your selected pool colour installed. Keep in mind that the finished colour can be slightly different in every backyard and is determined by environmental factors, things like the amount of light or shade your pool area will receive and reflection from surrounding structures.

Light Coloured Pools

e.g. Pearl White, Pebble Sand, Sandstone Shimmer, Hawaiian Sand

Choosing a light coloured pool will create a light, bright pool.

• A light coloured pool can reflect the light and create the illusion of a larger pool.
• Light coloured pools can have a tropical beach feel.
• A light coloured pool can be a cooler pool as the sun is reflected rather than absorbed by the pool shell.
• At night, light coloured pools can be seen more easily and will show off pool lights magnificently.
• A light coloured pool, particularly our Crystal Granite Pearl White Pool, has the ability to virtually change colour by night with the addition of colour change LED pool lights.

It is important to keep your light coloured pool clean as your eye will be drawn to the bottom and you may notice any settled debris.

Medium Blue Pools

e.g. Coral Blue, Lagoon Blue, Nite Blue, Aquamarine, Marble Grey & Bermuda Blue (Medium/Dark)

• Medium blue pools are the most traditional and popular pools.
• Medium blue pools are simple, stylish, and timeless with a radiant finish.
• The brightness of the pool will depend on the amount of light or shade in your backyard. Medium Blue pools can appear darker in shaded yards or lighter in a bright yard. (For example Bermuda Blue pools can fall in both the medium Blues and Dark Blue category depending on your backyard)

By night pool lights look great in a Medium Blue pool, however they are not as responsive to colour change lights as a White or light coloured pool is.

Dark Coloured Pools

e.g. Royal Blue, Jade stone, Ocean Blue, Dusky Blue, Conquest Blue & Bermuda Blue (Medium/Dark)

• Dark pools will attract and absorb the sunrays; this can result in an increase in pool temperature.
• A very dark pool can be prone to getting warmer in the heat of summer potentially creating a lukewarm swimming experience.
• Dark pools can create a mirrored effect and a sophisticated moody feel.
• Dark pool can appear black at night.
• Darker coloured pools can appear deeper; as a result, depth perception can be affected.
• With a dark pool, you will be less likely to notice settled debris.

Once you have decided on the colour you can add extra sparkle with the addition of Shimmer Colour or Crystal Granite effect to your chosen pool colour.

Create ‘Moving water’ with the addition of a Water feature; deck Jets, Wet deck or Spa jets. With the addition of one of these features, you create water movement and as a result, sun light is reflected and creates light, shadow, and an interesting, tranquil & relaxing effect.
